Strong increase in the volume of exports of frozen salmon

During week 19, the average price of fresh salmon was NOK 61.94 (EUR 6.32/kg). This price is down 1% on that of the previous week and 18% on that of the same week in 2018. Compared with the same week in 2017, it was down 12% in value according to Norwegian Statistics.

The average price of exports of frozen salmon was NOK 61.15 (EUR 6.24/kg), up 6% on that of the previous week and 1% on that of the same week in 2018, it was down 1% on that of 2017.

Exports of fresh salmon during the week reported 16,315 tonnes. This figure is up 1% on that of the previous week and 9% on that of the same week in 2018; it was up 14% on that of the same week in 2017.. So far this year, exports of salmon registered 304,088 tonnes, down 2% on that of the same period in 2018 and up 9% on that of 2017.

Exports of frozen products during the week reported 240 tonnes. This figure is up 92% on that of the previous week and down 6% on that of the same week in 2018; it was down 55% on that of the same week in 2017. During the year, exports of frozen salmon registered 5,157 tonnes, down 11% on that of the same period in the previous year and 38% on that of the same period in 2017.
