The People's Republic of China ordered adjustments to the current tariff structure, effective July 1, 2018, which reaches 1449 consumer products not produced by the Asian country or of which it is a net importer. A total of 387 of them are agroindustrial products, announced the Ministry of Agribusiness.
The regulation sets temporary tariffs that are lower than those implemented on the Most Favoured Nation (MFN) countries, aimed at reducing prices and stimulating final consumer spending on the specified number of products, according to the Ministry of Finance of the People's Republic of China.
The measure took place in the framework of the negotiations with the Asian country that are being developed through the Secretariat of Agroindustrial Markets, together with the Agricultural Ministry in China through the Argentine ambassador in this country and the Agricultural Advisor.
Regarding seafood products, China reduced the tariffs from 10 per cent to 7 per cent on hake - whole, frozen and fillets-; frozen ray and tilapia; salted anchovies and frozen crabs.
