- The seafarers' strike was not felt in the port of Camarones, Chubut, where the unloading and departure operations to the ‘fishing zone’ was normal. The crews of the fresh vessels that operate in national waters resist the measure.
- The fresh shrimp vessels Victoria I, Nono Pascual and Jupiter were dispatched to the fishing zone this Monday, on the first day of the national strike decreed by the United Maritime Workers Union (SOMU).
The measure of force does not awaken the adherence of the sailors of the fresh fishing vessels who for three weeks have been operating in national waters within the area of closed hake juveniles.
While the "tangonero" freezer fleet of one hundred ships remains in port, first by decision of the companies, and now due to the general strike by SOMU, the shrimp vessels continue to report very good catches of shrimp, both in volume and quality of seafood, in subareas enabled for the fishery.
The ports of Chubut continue to receive deep-sea fresh vessels, the number of which continues to grow over the days within the national jurisdiction. Due to the strict protocols that must be followed for the mooring and landing of catches, the number of boats that moor simultaneously in port Camarones is limited.
However, this Monday, on the first day of the general strike for fishing decreed by the union that Raúl Durdos directs, the movement of fresh vessels in that port of Chubut was normal. After unloading, ships Victoria I, Nono Pascual and Jupiter were dispatched to the fishing area, and others plan to do the same this Tuesday, port sources revealed.
Meanwhile, in Puerto Madryn, three fresh vessels entered this Monday to land their catches. In Mar del Plata, the fishing operation was also normal, with the exception of the shrimp freezer boats that do not leave due to the decision of their owners.
