On August 15, the first 2020 fishing season for anchovy will conclude

The Ministry of Production (Produce) announced that on August 15, the first 2020 fishing season of the anchovy (Engraulis ringens) and white anchovy (Anchoa nasus) resource corresponding to the north-central zone will conclude.
According to Ministerial Resolution 263-2020-PRODUCE, published in the El Peruano newspaper, the unloading of the anchovy resource must be carried out within 24 hours after the end of the season.

Likewise, the processing of the anchovy resource has to be carried out within 48 hours of its conclusion.
It should be noted that this season began on May 13, with an available quota of 2,413,000 tons, 17.4% higher than the provisions of the similar season in 2019.
To date, the catch volume reaches 97.96% of the maximum allowed limit, with a landing of 2 363 858 tonnes, the main ports where unloadings are being made: Bayóvar, Malabrigo, Coishco, Chimbote, Samanco, Supe, Vegueta , Carquín, Chancay, Callao, Tambo de Mora and Paracas (Pisco).
Control and compliance with the standard
Produce detailed that non-compliance with the provisions of the regulation will be sanctioned in accordance with the provisions of Decree Law No. 25977, General Fisheries Law, its Regulations approved by Supreme Decree No. 012-2001-PE, in Legislative Decree No. 1084, Law on Maximum Catch Limits per Vessel, its Regulations approved by Supreme Decree No. 021-2008-PRODUCE, the Regulation for the Supervision and Sanction of Fishing and Aquaculture Activities approved by Supreme Decree No. 017-2017-PRODUCE, and other legal provisions applicable.
In the same way, the General Directorates of Policies and Regulatory Analysis in Fishing and Aquaculture, of Fishing for Direct and Indirect Human Consumption, of Supervision, Inspection and Sanction of the Vice-Ministerial Office of Fisheries and Aquaculture of the Ministry of Production; as well as the dependencies with fishing competence of the Regional Governments and the General Directorate of Captaincies and Coast Guard of the Peruvian Navy of the Ministry of Defense, within the scope of their respective competences, will carry out the corresponding dissemination actions and will ensure the compliance with the above.
