Futuna Blue Spain is adapting its new facilities for farming and fattening sole (Solea senegalensis), located in the industrial area of Tres Caminos, in the town of Puerto Real, Cadiz.
The company is working on the premises to install water treatment systems and culture tanks.
Futuna will be able to start the activity that was scheduled after submitting the necessary documents to the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries for obtaining mariculture authorization.
Once sole production begins, the company expects the fish to reach a market size that is between 400 and 500 grams in a period of 12-14 months.
After a year, it is expected the production capacity reaches 60 tonnes of sole.
