On Galician markets, in October, total volumes of shellfish specied declined by 207 tonnes. The most important drops were those in manila clam, cockles and barnacle. The most important increases were reported by sea urchin, pullet carpet shell and banded carpet shell.

On the wholesale market of Mercabarna, incoming volumes declined by 98 tonnes in October. The most important drops were reported by fresh mussels, fresh farmed clam, fresh European lobster and fresh grooved carpet shell. The most important increases were those in frozen gills and bodies, fresh oyster and frozen spiny rock lobster.

On Mercamadrid, in October, compared with the previous month, the most important variations in frozen products was the drop in fresh mussel, import velvet swimcarb, live ox crab, farmed clam and European lobster. The most important increases were registered in fresh periwinkle, frozen Norway lobster, murex and sea crab.

At French ports, in October, volumes declined in the case of European lobster and Norway lobster. Those of regular snail and scallops increased.

Italy

At Italian ports, volumes of shellfish landed in October declined in striped venus and dye murex. The most important rise was that in mantis shrimp. The main ports were Goro, San Benedetto de Tronto and Ancona.

On Galician markets, in October, the most important drops were those in grooved carpet shell, velvet swimcrab, golden carpet shell, banded carpet shell, ox crab and warty venus volumes. The most significant rises were those in razor shell, sabre clam, Norway lobster and manila clam.

On Mercabarna, the most important drops in prices were those registered in fresh velvet swimcrab, fresh regular snail, fresh European lobster, fresh spiny rock lobster and frozen lobster tails, due to a lower demand. The most significant increases were registered in frozen spiny lobster, fresh barnacle, fresh Norway lobster, fresh Galician barnacle and fresh fine shell.

On Mercamadrid, in October, prices remained stable in all frozen species. Most fresh species also remained stable, except for the drops in European lobster, import velvet swimcrab, large Norway lobsters and striped venus. Those of barnacle, large nacional striped venus and import spider crab increased.
