Prices
The average price of frozen mackerel (Scomber Scombrus) (HS 030354000) was JPY 278/kg at Japanese Customs in July, up 3% on that of June and up 25% on that of July 2018. During the first seven months, it averaged JPY 256/kg, up 20% on that of the same period in the previous year.

Markets
Japanese imports of mackerel (HS 0303.54.000) reached 2,668 tonnes, worth JPY 743 million CIF at Japanese Customs. These figures are down 3% in volume and similar in value on those of the previous month and down 40% in volume and 25% in value on those of July 2019.

In the period, exports reached 39,448 tonnes and JPY 10,100 million, up 10% in volume and 32% in value compared to the same period of 2018.

The 86% of imports of the year came from Norway, 33,671 tonnes.
