Prices

The future price for 3 to 6 kg in December is NOK 62.25 (EUR 6.40/kg), while for January and February 2019 they estimate it will be at NOK 64.70 and NOK 63.55 (EUR 6.65 y 6.52).

During week 47, the average price of fresh salmon was NOK 53.84 (EUR 5.54/kg). This figure is down 4% on that of the previous week and up 10% on that of the same week in 2017. Compared with the same week in 2016, it was down 14% in value, according to Norwegian Statistics. The weekly average FOB price of fresh salmon exports (HS 03121201 and 03121202) at Norwegian Customs so far in 2018 was NOK 61.41/kg (EUR 6.32/kg), down 1% on that of the same period in 2017 and up 3% on that of 2016.

The average price of exports of frozen salmon was NOK 62.48 (EUR 6.43/kg), up 3% on that of the previous week and 8% on that of the same week in 2017. It is down 14% on that of 2016. So far this year, the average price of exports of frozen salmon has been NOK 59.04 (EUR 6.08/kg), down 9% in value on that of and up 2% on that of 2016.

Markets

Exports of fresh salmon during the analysed week reported 19,701 tonnes. This figure is up 1% on that of the previous week and similar to that of the same week in 2017, and up 5% on that of the same week in 2016. So far this year, exports of salmon have reached 802,101 tonnes, up 7% on those of the same period in 2017 and 10% on those of 2016.

Exports of frozen products during the week reported 435 tonnes. This figure is down 13% on that of the previous week, down 23% on that of the same week in 2017, and down 36% on that of 2016. So far this year, exports of frozen salmon have reached 16,655 tonnes, down 15% on those of the same period in 2017 and 29% on those of the same period of 2016.
