Prices

The future price for 3 to 6 kg in Jult is NOK 62.50 (EUR 6.59/kg), while for August and September 2018 they estimate it will be at NOK 60.00 (EUR 6.32/kg) and NOK 57.60 (EUR 6.06/kg)

During week 24, the average price of fresh salmon was NOK 65.00/kg (EUR 6.86/kg). This figure is up 6% on that of the previous week and down 4% on that of the same week in 2017. Compared with the same week in 2016, it was down 6%, according to Norwegian Statistics. The weekly average FOB price of fresh salmon exports (HS 03121201 and 03121202) at Norwegian Customs in 2018 was NOK 64.95/kg (EUR 6.85/kg), down 2% on that of the same period in 2017 and up 11% on that of 2016.

The average price of exports of frozen salmon was NOK 69.28 (EUR 7.31/kg), similar to that of the previous week and of the same week in 2017. It is up 8% on that of 2016. So far this year, the average price of exports of frozen salmon has been NOK 57.31 (EUR 6.05/kg), down 16% in value on that of 2017 and up 9% on that of 2016.

Markets

Exports of fresh salmon during the analysed week reported 16,548 tonnes. This figure is down 1% on that of the previous week, up 21% on that of the same week in 2017 and up 16% on that of 2016. So far this year, exports of salmon have reached 377,639 tonnes, up 9% on those of the same period in 2017 and 6% on those of 2016.

Exports of frozen products during the week reported 291 tonnes. This figure is up 4% on that of the previous week, down 16% on that of the same week in 2017 and down 55% on that of 2016. So far this year, exports of frozen salmon have reached 7,253 tonnes, down 29% on those of the same period in 2017 and 40% on those of the same period of 2016.
