Prices
The average price of frozen mackerel (HS 030354000) was JPY 217/kg at Japanese Customs in April, up 7% on that of March and down 6% on that of April 2017. In the four months, the average was JPY 207/kg, down 6% on that of the same period in the previous year.

Markets
Japanese imports of mackerel (HS 0303.54.000) reached 3,736 tonnes, worth JPY 809 million CIF at Japanese Customs. These figures are up 36% in volume and 46% in value on those of the previous month and up 18% in volume and 13% in value on those of April 2017.

During the four months, they totalled 24,934 tonnes and JPY 5,202 million, up 34% in volume and 26% in value on those of the same period in 2017.
