Markets
Total imports of fresh and frozen tuna reached 16,548 tonnes in October, worth JPY 10,691 million at Japanese Customs. These figures are up 13% in volume and down 7% in value on those of September; and they are up 16% in volume and 22% in value on those of October 2017.
Imports of fresh tuna registered 964 tonnes, worth JPY 1,779 million at Japanese Customs, down 8% in volume and up 6% n value on those of the previous month and down 8% in volume and up 4% in value on those of October 2017.

As regards frozen tuna, imports during the month reported 15,584 tonnes, with a value of JPY 8,912 million at Japanese Customs.
These figures are up 15% in volume and down 10% in value on those of the previous month; compared with October 2017, they are up 18% in volume and 26% in value.
