Spain

On Mercabarna, supplies of shrimp and prawn dropped by over 18 tonnes, during October 2017. The most important drops in volumes were registered in frozen shrimper prawn, frozen red prawn, frozen white prawn, frozen cooked shrimp and frozen South American shrimp. The most important rise was reported by the frozen shrimp HLSO.

On Mercamadrid, supplies of most shrimp and prawn increased, except for that of frozen large and small scarlet shrimp that registered a slight drop. The most significant increases were reported by frozen cooked shrimp and frozen prawn.

In October, the main variations in prices on Mercabarna, compared with September, were the increases registered in frozen prawn (camarón) and frozen cooked prawn (gamba), due to a higher demand. There was a drop in fresh shrimp, due to a rise in supplies. To a lesser extent, there was a drop in prices of frozen white prawn and frozen cooked shrimp, following a lower demand. Those of frozen red prawn and fresh prawn have increased, as a consequence of a drop in supplies.

On Mercamadrid, in October, prices remained stable in all species, compared with the previous month.
