 This report focuses on catch volumes and harvests of different species of shrimp and prawns in the EU and Argentina. It also highlights fishing bans, prices, inventories, markets, imports and exports of species detailed in the following index.
1. EUROPE
1.1 European Union

Argentine stiletto prawn (Artemesia longinaris)

Inventories
Spain
On Mercabarna, supplies of shrimp and prawn increased by over 5 tonnes, during ovember 2017. The most significant rises were those in frozen shrimper prawn, frozen red prawn and frozen cooked shrimp. The main drops were registered in frozen South American shrimp, frozen Tunisian shrimp and frozen cooked prawn.
On Mercamadrid, supplies of most species of prawn and shrimp increased by 27 tonnes. Supplies of frozen species increased by 10 tonnes and so did fresh ones by 16 tonnes. The most significant rise was reported by fresh shrimp, frozen small and medium shrimp.

Italy
At Italian ports, in November, volumes landed increased by 79 tonnes. The main ports were Corigliano Calabro, San Benedetto del Tronto and Ancona.

United Kingdom
In September 2017, the volumes landed at the UK ports, both by the national and the foreign fleets, rose by21 tonnes. The main port was Kings Lynn in England, with 32 tonnes.

Denmark
Volumes of shrimp supplies on Danish markets dropped by 225 kg in November, compared with the previous month. All auctions were carried out at the market of Hanstholm.

In November, the main variations in prices on Mercabarna were the increases in fresh shrimp prawn, frozen scarlet shrimp, frozen red prawn, fresh shrimp and frozen Tunisian shrimp.
On Mercamadrid, in November, prices remained stable in all frozen species, compared with the previous month. Those of giant prawn and grill prawn increased.

2. SOUTH AMERICA
2.1 Argentina
Inventories
Volumes of shrimp landed in November dropped by 10,000 tonnes. However, so far this year, volumes have increased by 59,000 tonnes, compared with the previous month. Puerto Madryn and Puerto Deseado were still the main ports as regards volumes.

MARKETS
According to the report provided by the National Fishery Planning Directorate, the price of shrimp increased on that of the previous month. This means a rise of 1.9% from those of the same month in the previous year.
