The Peruvian government seeks to implement a new mechanism to calculate fishing rights for the exploitation of resources for indirect consumption, and for this purpose it prepared a supreme decree project in order to receive comments.
The Ministerial Resolution 055-2019-PRODUCE, published on February 17 in the official newspaper El Peruano, establishes the publication of the "Supreme Decree project that modifies Articles 43 and 45 of the Regulations of the General Fisheries Law, approved by Supreme Decree 0122001 -PE."
In the new resolution, which bears the signature of the Minister of Production, Raúl Pérez-Reyes, it is explained that it is necessary to modify those articles "in order to establish a new mechanism for the calculation of fishing rights for the exploitation of resources with destiny to indirect human consumption ".
Likewise, it is indicated that it is necessary "to implement, promote and facilitate research, monitoring, surveillance, control, planning of the development of fisheries with scientific and technical support, to ensure the sustainable use of resources."
The aforementioned project and its corresponding explanatory statement are disseminated in the institutional portal of the Ministry of Production for a period of 10 working days counted from February 18, "for the purpose of receiving the opinions, comments and/or suggestions of the citizenship".
The opinions, comments and/or suggestions on the draft of the supreme decree should be sent to the Ministry of Production with attention to the General Directorate of Regulatory Policies and Analysis in Fisheries and Aquaculture, or to the electronic address DGPARPA@produce.gob.pe.
