Ecoceanos Center for Conservation and Sustainable Development is an independent citizens' organization formed in 1998. Its objectives are the conservation and sustainable resource management and coastal and ocean ecosystems, strengthening informed and purposeful participation of civil society and sustainable development of small-scale fishing communities and coastal and regional economies.
Ecoceanos Center promotes the empowerment and active participation of citizen organizations, fishers, fishworkers, coastal communities, indigenous peoples, small and medium fishing enterprise and consumers in the process of generating policies for access, management and use of areas and marine resources.
