Prices

The future price for 3 to 6 kg for October is NOK 55.80 (EUR 5.90/kg), while that for November and December is expected to reach NOK 64.05 and 67.35 (EUR 6.77 and 7.10).

During week 40, the average price of fresh salmon was NOK 57.93 (EUR 6.08/kg). This price is down 2% on that of the previous week and up 2% on that of the same week in 2017. Regarding the same week in 2016, it is down 1% in value, according to Norwegian Statistics. The weekly FOB price of fresh salmon exports (HS 03121201 y 03121202) at Norwegian Customs averaged NOK 62.12/kg (EUR 6.52/kg), down 3% on that of the same period in 2017 and up 5% on that of 2016.

The average price of exports of frozen salmon was NOK 58.68 (EUR 6.15/kg), up 3% on that of the previous week and down 2% on that of the same week in 2017, also up 4% on that of 2016. So far this year, the average price of frozen salmon exports has been NOK 58.57 (EUR 6.14/kg), down 11% in value on that of the previous year and up 4% on that of 2016.

Markets

Exports of fresh salmon during the analysed week reported 19,999 tonnes. This figure is up 3% on that of the previous week and 5% on that of the same week in 2017; it was up 10% on that of the same week in 2016. So far this year, exports of salmon registered 665,821 tonnes, up 8% on that of the same period in 2017 and 9% on that of 2016.

Exports of frozen products during the week reported 330 tonnes. This figure is up 7% on that of the previous week and down 30% on that of the same week in 2017; it was down 45% on that of the same week in 2016. During the year, exports of frozen salmon registered 13,590 tonnes, down 14% on that of the same period in the previous year and 29% on that of the same period in 2016.
