1.1 Japan
Salmon roes
Prices
The average monthly price of ikura salmon roe in the Tokyo central market in April averaged JPY 5,387 per kg, 1% lower than the previous month and 20% lower than April 2018.
The Sujiko averaged JPY 3,108 per kg, 11% higher than in March and similar to April 2018.

Markets
In the January-April period sales of salmon roe (sujiko and ikura, including salted soybeans) were 395 tonnes, with a value of JPY 1,907 million.. These figures are 7% higher in volume and 14% lower in value than in the same period 2018.
Ikura sales in these markets reached 295 tonnes and JPY 1,605 million in the period, a similar volume and 20% less value than in the same period last year. Sujiko''''s sales grew 39% in volume and 33% in value on those of last year.

2. EUROPE
2.1 Norway
Salmon (Salmo salar)
Prices
During week 21, the average price of fresh salmon (Salmo salar) was NOK 61.33 (EUR 6.29/kg). This price is down 6% on that of the previous week and up 17% on that of the same week in 2018. Compared with the same week in 2017, it was down 15% in value according to Norwegian Statistics.

The average price of exports of frozen salmon was NOK 63.02 (EUR 6.46/kg), 3% lower than the price of the previous week and 1% higher than the same week of 2018, being 5% lower than 2017.

Markets
Exports of fresh salmon during the week reported 18,992 tonnes. This figure is 18% higher than the previous week and 24% higher than that of the same week in 2018, growing 38% in relation to the same week of 2017. So far this year salmon exports reach 339,207 tons, volume 4% higher than in the same period 2018 and 11% higher than in 2017

Exports of frozen products during the week reported 302 tonnes. This figure is up 1% on that of the previous week and 11% on that of the same week in 2018, it was down 31% on that of the same week in 2017. During the year, exports of frozen salmon registered 5,757 tonnes, down 10% on that of the same period in the previous year and 37% on that of the same period in 2017.
