Freshé Meals are small, convenient, protein-based meals that go anywhere, nourish your body and are mindful of the environment.

Friend of the Sea Certifies for Sustainable Seafood Production Freshé brand and EcoFish

  (UNITED STATES, 8/11/2020)

Friend of the Sea, the preeminent certification standard for products and services that respect and protect the marine environment, announced that it has certified EcoFish Freshé brand for sustainable seafood production practices. The company demonstrated sound environmental practices.  EcoFish Freshé can now display the Friend of the Sea eco-label on products.

“Freshé and EcoFish, by their very names, promote the value of environmental sustainability in the consumer market,” said Paolo Bray, Director of Friend of the Sea. “They are proof that commitment to environmentally positive practices is good for business.”

Enjoy Thai Sriracha, Provence Nicoise, Sicilian Caponata, or Aztec Ensalada straight from the tin, or pair with your favorite snack.

Freshé provides an assortment of pocket-sized seafood meals, billing them as “the perfect go-to option for healthy, delicious eating wherever you are.” With selections like Aztec Ensalada and Sicilian Caponata, Freshé products feature all-natural, non-GMO ingredients packed into a BPA-free tin with fresh olive oil, hearty vegetables and wild-caught protein.

EcoFish, founded in 1999, offers consumers a broad catalog of seafood intended for concerned people who care about where their food comes from, carefor the environment and desire a source of all natural premium quality seafood from environmentally sustainable fisheries.

Freshé meals are responsibly sourced, packed in BPA-free tins, made from certified sustainable, wild-caught protein, and include all-natural, non-GMO ingredients.

Henry Lovejoy, Founder of EcoFish, said “Freshé products are proud to be Friend of the Sea certified. Certification is imperative for the future of the oceans and any brand claiming sustainability. Friend of the Sea is an important component in the total commitment Freshé makes to complete quality, with all nutrient dense meals being all natural, non-GMO, high in protein, in recyclable BPA-free packaging and full of vitamins, minerals and omega-3’s.”

About EcoFish Freshé

Freshé are Ready-to-eat globally inspired small meals with simple ingredients, vibrant superfoods and sustainably sourced protein.

No matter where you are - at the top of a mountain or the dining room table, you can enjoy Freshé with confidence.

Inspiration often strikes when you’re looking for something else. Henry and Lisa Lovejoy were on a sourcing trip in Europe’s Iberian Peninsula—a place where colorful buildings dot the landscape and cliffs rise from the sea—in search of the world’s greatest sardines. And sardines they found! The more exciting discovery, however, was a centuries-old European tradition of preserving premium-quality food in tins.

The magic of properly tinned high-quality foods is they don’t need preservatives. It also keeps foods fresher longer - at least 4 years, imagine that!  And beyond that, tinned foods are easily transportable - simple to carry along on any adventure.

When they returned to the States, they couldn’t get the concept out of their minds. They already had a seafood business, EcoFish, so they began to experiment with tinned meals. Beginning with responsibly sourced proteins, Henry and Lisa designed traditional, globally-inspired recipes filled with wholesome vegetables, legumes, vibrant herbs, spices, and olive oil. As avid gardeners, they know that amazing foods preserved with skill make delicious meals a reality well beyond harvest.

Freshé Meals are the result of their adventure: super portable, highly nutritious, and responsible meals.
