Terrapez, finished at the end of year 2000 the construction of what could be the most most modern Tilapia processing facility in the Americas.
Our fish are harvested from our farms and immediately transported to our plant, where they are processed under to most strict quality control standards. The product is then chilled and packed and air flown to Miami International Airport six days a week, to offer the best possible freshness to our customers.
Our processing facility was designed in accordance with international codes, including HACCP and the European Union standards. The company achieved ISO 9002 and ISO 14001 certification in 2002 and it is also Kosher certified.
All of the fish waste resulting of the processing of our Tilapia is transformed into fishmeal and fish oil which is used in the production of animal feed by other companies. This not only provides the company with additional revenues, but it is also environmentally friendly.
