Estremar raises concern about Patagonian toothfish allocation
Estremar president, Alan Mackern, formally requested the CFP to have a handwritten copy of the meetings held by its members.

On 2 November, an article published in Revista Puerto, entitled "The Council was a party," outlined the unusual meeting held by the Federal Fisheries Council (CFP) on 29 October, which was not attended by the undersecretary of Fisheries and Aquaculture, Miguel Bustamante, who holds the position of chairman of this entity (and who reported that he was in Montevideo).
The writer of that article, Karina Fernandez, summed up the meeting in this way:
"Although the chair of the Federal Fisheries Council was headless, high-impact decisions were taken and they have already been rejected by the members of the fishing community. Additional Patagonian toothfish volume was allocated to the vessel Echizen ...
