EstreMar tiene una larga trayectoria en la industria pesquera.

Leading Benchmark for Toothfish

  (ARGENTINA, 8/13/2015)

EstreMar's operations began in Argentina in 1992 in the city of Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego province, Antártida e Islas del Atlántico Sur. EstreMar has over 20 years of experience in the fishing industry.

EstreMar is considered a leading dealer and benchmark for Toothfish and, one of the leading fisheries in the country. The company harvests and processes onboard several species, especially Patagonian Toothfish, Hoki and Southern Blue Whiting.

Almost all of EstreMar's production is exported to the main world markets, such as the United States, Japan, Spain and China. By supplying these markets with the upmost quality products EstreMar generates foreign exchange income for the country.

EstreMar employs more than 150 people, mainly experienced in fishing techniques and processing sea products, the company major achievements are a result of team effort and its people are the key factor for the company’s success.

EstreMar's fishing vessel, The Centurion del Atlantico.

In May 2012, the hoki fishery was certificated as sustainable. It became the first fishery in South America to obtain such certification. Therefore EstreMar can display the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) blue eco-label for its hoki products. Confident of the correct management of the hoki fishery and under the scope of the Federal Fishery Council of Argentina (CFP), EstreMar with the support of other fishing companies in Argentina, promoted the sustainability of its harvesting under the principles and criteria of the MSC.

EstreMar is committed to a sustainable management of the fishing resources, and it supports the responsible harvesting of the region throughout strict and regulated practices.

EstreMar's operations are located in the Southwest Atlantic Ocean, one of the most southern ports and one of the purest environments in the world.

 On-board processing.

Today EstreMar operates with the Centurion del Atlantico, a large freezer vessel equipped with the most advanced technology in processing HGT, Round, Mince and Blocks, all of which meet the upmost quality standards required in the world’s most demanding markets.

The rebuilding of her entire factory transformed the vessel into one of the most modern one in the industry. One of these breakthrough modifications in order to maintain the quality of the company's products are the freezer tunnels which have a daily capacity of 50 tons of fish.

The Centurión del Atlántico catches and processes onboard several species of fish; the most common are Patagonian Toothfish, Hoki and Southern Blue Whiting.

EstreMar also produces Australis Hake, King Clip and Silver Warehou. EstreMar makes use the 100% of the captured resource: all unused material in the production process is transformed into fishmeal.

The hoki fishery was certificated as sustainable and has been awarded MSC certification.
