Blueyou is at the forefront of transforming global seafood production towards a more sustainable future.

Sustainable Seafood Choices by Blueyou

  (SWITZERLAND, 1/4/2021)

Blueyou offers a wide range of sustainable seafood choices from origins worldwide. Through close partnerships with fishers, farmers and the seafood industry, Blueyou creates awareness of environmentally and socially responsible food production while improving its technical aspects, including food safety, traceability and product quality.

All 360° Seafood Selection fish is sustainably sourced.

360° Seafood Selection is the latest consumer brand by Blueyou, a one-stop-shop that integrates all the important dimensions and properties of premium quality, safe and sustainable seafood choices. It is designed to encompass a variety of carefully selected seafood products under one brand – including a detailed assessment of the carbon footprint of each product origin.

Along the process flow from harvest to final packed products, 360° Seafood Selection optimizes the handling of its seafood in order to best preserve its natural taste, coluor and texture.

Traceability and transparency are key conditions for the 360° Seafood Selection. Correct and inclusive labelling allows costumers to make informed choices - and become drivers of change in our oceans. By addressing all aspects of a truly sustainable food product, the 360° Seafood Selection allows everyone to make the right choice.

The Artesmar brand recognizes the merits of small-scale fisheries and promotes selectively-caught seafood species on global markets.

Blueyou’s unique fishery development program for artisanal fisheries, Artesmar offers a step-by-step approach to improve small-scale fisheries’ economic feasibility while reducing environmental impacts. The Artesmar consumer brand recognizes the merits of small-scale fisheries and promotes selectively-caught seafood species on global markets.  The program recognizes high catch selectivity and low impacts on aquatic habitats as important merits of many small-scale fisheries.

Artesmar creates a unique markeet identity for selectively caught seafood from artisanal fisheries.

Artesmar addresses the specific challenges of small-scale fisheries and offers a functional framework for stepwise fishery improvement focusing on triple bottom line outcomes (economy, environment and local livelihoods and social impact). By creating direct market access for seafood caught by smallholder fishers, the Artesmar program uses market-incentivized processes and socioeconomic benefits as key drivers for the development of more sustainable business and fishing practices.

Selva Shrimp are carefully caught by net and immediately put on ice to preserve their freshness and exquisite flavor.

The Selva Shrimp, Blueyou’s flagship program for sustainable, climate-friendly and socially responsible farmed shrimp utilizes traditional, natural farming of premium Black Tiger Shrimp by small-scale communities in Vietnam, combined with improved mangrove conservation. Selva Shrimp are raised without feed or chemicals. Everything that the shrimp need to grow is provided by the mangrove forest. Healthy mangrove forests are the key to Selva Shrimp’s small environmental footprint and excellent quality. Blueyou's program creates direct incentives for farmers to keep mangrove forests intact. Selva Shrimp is certified according to the most stringent environmental standards and is recommended by Ocean Wise as a sustainable seafood choice.
