The deal, finalized in April 2025, represents a key strategic move for the Ultra Fish Group

Ultra Fish Group Strengthens Market Position with Acquisition of Severny Kristall

  (RUSSIAN FEDERATION, 5/19/2025)

Leading Russian Seafood Player Expands Production Capacity and Product Range with Strategic Takeover of Frozen and Chilled Fish Producer.

Moscow – The Ultra Fish Group of Companies, a prominent player in the Russian fish products market, has announced the successful completion of its acquisition of Severny Kristall, a well-established producer of a diverse range of frozen, chilled, salted, and dried fish products, as well as premium salmon caviar.

Severny Kristall commenced operations on June 26, 2017, and boasts a modern production facility spanning over 2,500 square meters located in Dmitrov, Moscow Region. The company underwent significant upgrades in 2021-2022, including extensive repairs and modernization of all production lines, coupled with the installation of new, high-performance equipment. This investment has enabled Severny Kristall to achieve a substantial production capacity of up to 20 tons of finished products per day and 600 tons per month.

The Ultra Fish Group is the founder and owner of the thriving VkusArt brand, which offers a wide array of popular fish and seafood products. Demonstrating its strong market presence, VkusArt has been consistently recognized in the independent NTech rating, securing a place in the TOP-10 leading retail brands in the fish products market for the second consecutive year, currently holding the 6th position. Furthermore, VkusArt has shown impressive growth momentum, with its rating score increasing by a significant 3930 points between 2023 and 2024, reaching 16,483 points in 2024 compared to 12,553 points in the previous year. This independent assessment underscores the VkusArt brand's strong consumer demand, its robust presence in the retail segment, and its sustainable development within the market.

The acquisition of Severny Kristall is poised to create significant synergies by combining the core strengths of both entities. This includes leveraging high quality standards, secure and sustainable raw material supply chains, a well-established sales, logistics, and marketing infrastructure, alongside efficient and advanced production technologies.

The deal, finalized in April 2025, represents a key strategic move for the Ultra Fish Group, with the primary objectives of significantly increasing its overall production capacity, further solidifying its market leadership position, and strategically expanding its existing product portfolio. Ultra Fish has ambitious plans for the acquired Severny Kristall facility, intending to produce a comprehensive range of frozen and chilled fish products, convenient semi-finished meals and snack options derived from fish and seafood, as well as their established line of high-quality fish caviar.

Alexey Kuzin, the majority shareholder of the Ultra Fish Group of Companies, commented on the acquisition:

"We are delighted to welcome the talented Severny Kristall team into our organizational structure. This strategic acquisition significantly enhances our ability to directly reach the end consumer, strengthens our position within the crucial retail segment, and serves as an effective mechanism for diversifying potential risks while bolstering the overall sustainability of our business. The new production capabilities will allow us to expand our offering of fresh, high-quality products and streamline our supply and processing chains, creating greater efficiency from the initial fishing process all the way to the final product on the store shelf."

The Ultra Fish Group has already commenced the active integration of Severny Kristall's business processes into the group's overarching development strategy, signaling a swift and focused approach to realizing the benefits of this significant acquisition.
