AquaChile shareholders approve USD 340 million capital increase
(CHILE, 8/2/2018)
AquaChile informed that the Extraordinary Shareholders' Meeting approved a capital increase of up to USD 340 million, with the purpose of financing the company's investment plan and business opportunities, mergers and acquisitions that are presented in the industry.
"These funds will allow us to materialize the purchase of Salmones Magallanes and advance the investment plan we have been developing to take advantage of growth opportunities and promote productive improvement projects," said Agustín Ugalde, general manager of AquaChile.
In addition, the company plans to quote this year on the Oslo Stock Exchange, Norway, the main market for the salmon industry.
AquaChile is an important player in the global salmon industry. In 2017, it recorded a net profit of USD 58.9 million and a consolidated EBITDA of pre fair value adjustments of USD 141.9 million.
Before knowing the purcase operation of Salmones Magallanes, the company expected to produce this year around 110,000 tonnes of Atlantic salmon, Pacific salmon, trout and tilapia.
